Overview: Cereus jamacaru, commonly known as the Cuddly Cactus because of the absence of sharp spines, is a striking cactus native to the arid regions of Brazil. This majestic plant can grow up to 30 feet tall in its natural habitat, though it typically reaches 6-10 feet when cultivated indoors. Its tall, columnar structure is adorned with thick, blue-green stems that have prominent ribs, creating a bold and architectural presence.

Cereus jamacaru is renowned for its spectacular nocturnal blooms. Large, fragrant white flowers open at night, attracting pollinators with their sweet scent. These blooms are followed by edible, red fruits that add an extra layer of interest.
