At Ray Variegated Plants, we are committed to transparency and fair resolution of all order issues. Because we sell live plants (perishable goods), special conditions apply as outlined below. This policy is fully compliant with Google Merchant Center requirements.
1. Return Window
We offer a 30-day return window from the date of confirmed delivery for all eligible orders.
- This applies to all products including live plants, pots, and accessories
- The 30-day clock starts on the delivery date confirmed by FedEx tracking
- Claims must be initiated within this window to be eligible
Important for Live Plants: While our official return window is 30 days, we strongly recommend reporting any concerns regarding live plant condition within 48 hours of confirmed delivery for the fastest resolution, as plant health can deteriorate quickly after arrival.
2. Eligible Situations for Refund or Exchange
A refund or exchange may be approved if:
- The plant arrives dead on arrival (DOA)
- The plant arrives severely damaged during transit
- The incorrect item was shipped
- The item is materially different from what was ordered
- The item was damaged during shipping
All claims require:
- Order number
- Clear photos of the plant and packaging
- Submission within the 30-day return window
3. Non-Eligible Situations
Refunds or exchanges will not be issued for:
- Minor cosmetic imperfections natural to live plants
- Soil displacement during shipping
- Natural variation in size, color, or leaf pattern
- Damage resulting from improper care after delivery
- Claims submitted after 30 days of confirmed delivery
- Incorrect shipping address entered by the customer
- Carrier delays outside our control
4. State Shipping Restrictions
Ray Variegated Plants ships live plants within the contiguous United States only. Due to USDA and state agricultural regulations, we are unable to ship live plants to the following states:
- Hawaii — strict USDA import restrictions on live plant material
- Alaska — extreme climate conditions and agricultural import restrictions
- California — certain exotic species may require phytosanitary inspection
All plants are inspected and packaged in compliance with applicable USDA and state agricultural regulations before shipment. A phytosanitary certificate is available upon request for applicable orders.
5. Return Process
Step 1 — Email us at Info@rayvariegatedplants.shop with your order number, photos, and reason for return within 30 days of delivery.
Step 2 — We will respond within 1–2 business days with approval and return instructions.
Step 3 — Do not ship anything back without written authorization. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.
Step 4 — Once approved, ship the item within 3 days using the provided instructions.
Step 5 — Refund or replacement will be processed within 3–7 business days of receiving the returned item.
6. Refund Method & Timeline
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method only
- Processing time: 3–7 business days after approval
- Your bank or card issuer may require an additional 5–10 business days to reflect the funds
- Shipping fees are non-refundable once the order has shipped
7. Return Shipping Costs
- Our error (wrong or defective item) — we cover return shipping with a prepaid label
- Customer request — customer is responsible for return shipping costs
- Original shipping fees are non-refundable in all cases
8. Restocking Fee
- A 15% restocking fee applies to approved change-of-mind returns on non-perishable items
- Live plant returns approved due to DOA or damage are not subject to restocking fees
9. Order Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled within 12 hours of purchase, provided the order has not yet been shipped. Once shipped, orders cannot be cancelled. To cancel, email Info@rayvariegatedplants.shop immediately with your order number.
10. Exchanges
Exchanges are available for:
- Verified damaged or incorrect items
- Same or different item of equal or greater value
Exchanges are not available for change-of-mind purchases. If the replacement item has a higher value, the customer pays the difference. If lower, the difference is refunded.
